I chose YNAB over Mint because I wasn't comfortable providing Mint access to my bank accounts and YNAB's philosophy is for you to be more hands on with your budgeting including manually entering your expenses into the various account registries. It also had enough "shiny" analysis that made it preferable to an excel spreadsheet.
